It’s a great read about some amazing people and at the very end they have included the artwork Tim did for them over 20 years ago to say thank you for making his first Australian Story wasy back in 2004. We are very humbled and honoured to have Tim included. Australian story has done two shows on Tim 2004 and 2020. Without that first story I have no doubt none of the amazing achievements of Tim’s career would have ever happened. Tim had been selected to show his art at the worlds largest arts festival for people with a disability in 2004, a once in a life time opportunity. I had taken out a huge loan to get us to Washington to show his art. Australian Story, filmed that adventure and without them I am pretty certain, we would have come back home and I would have just kept on working to pay the loan off and continue to dedicate my life to looking after Tim and I’m sure not much more would have happened to Tim’s career. I had the passion but not the skills. Instead because of that 30 minutes of prime television the opportunities flowed and it havent stopped. The good people of Australia opened their arms wide for Tim after seeing the Australian Story programme. Television, theatre, TedX, art shows, speaking career, book, advocacy and inspiration. Australian story changed Tim’s life in 30 minutes and countless replays. Tim is a man who uses few words, but Australian Story showed that he is more than words. They changed a perspective of autism and disability. After years of fighting to have him seen as a person first, not a disability, how they showed the real TIm, a revelation and a connection for so many. It’s important to remember where you have come from and how far you have come and most importantly thank the people who have helped you along the way. We will always be eternally grateful to Australian Story and Kristine. They gave Tim and me a life we could never have imagined, and it has been the best we could dream of. With all our hearts hank you Australian Story ,
